Minot Country Club Broke New Ground July 2013
Scheduled for opening in late 2014
The "New" Minot Country Club recently broke ground on July 17, 2013. The public was invited to join members of the club and special guests for the ground breaking that begins the construction of this new Jim Engh-design in Minot, North Dakota. Scheduled for opening in late 2014, Minot Country Club will boast a par-72 layout that features dramatic views and elevation changes, a natural stream and valley, and a modern design that takes full advantage of the land's features.
"The groundbreaking of the new Minot Country Club, marks the beginning of a new chapter in our club's history...and also for the community of Minot," stated Mark Hildahl, Board and Long Time Member. "We are excited for this day and are even more excited for the opening of what will become one of the most inspiring club openings in the region, if not the country," added Hildahl.
The original Minot Country Club, which was built in 1928, was located on a different site and suffered from devastation incurred from the flood of the Souris River in 2011. Shortly thereafter a group of courageous members decided to rebuild a "new" Minot Country Club. They acquired property for the layout, tasked Golf Digests "Architect of the Year", Jim Engh with the design and brought in industry leader, OB Sports Golf Management for pre opening consultation and ongoing management of the club.
